Don't worry. We'll help you get there.
Ready to travel with Global Indiana? Following this step-by-step fundraising plan will help you and also spread the word about your vision for globally-minded schools. Feel free to ask for help, also.
Step 1
Tell your story.
In 250 words or less, answer the following questions in a pleasant story format. Who are you? Who do you teach? Why are you convinced that global education is important for your students' futures? What examples of this have you personally experienced? What is your vision for your classroom, school or township? How will participating in this trip equip you to pursue this vision? How and when can others help?
Add 3-5 photos to the document if you'd like.
Step 2
Tell your story to your friends.
Share your story on Facebook, via group emails, print flyers, etc. anywhere you connect with the people you love. Studies show that if you can get the word out to 50 friends and family or more, at least 20 will support you.
Step 3
Tell your story to your community.
Make sure you are communicating every step of the way with the students, parents and leaders of your school and township. Ask the leaders early for ways that you can partner together as you seek the common good of the students you serve. Write a formal version of your story and present it to the school board, local foundations, and donors. E-mail us for a unique listing of funders in your area.
Step 4
Invite others to share in your story.
As you move forward, why not host a small event or conversation about global education? This could be as simple as breakfast at a local coffee shop or 15 minutes of class time devoted to your vision. Those whom you invite and the quality of your conversation is of utmost importance, not the event itself.
Step 5
Keep us posted on your success!
Once you've reached your goal, make notes of everyone who participated and continue to communicate with them. First say thanks, then share updates and ways others can participate in this important work.
